Our Dentists
Dr. Bohdan Hrynyk earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University in Ukraine (2008) and later from Western University's Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry in London, Ontario (2016). Dr. Hrynyk is an active member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), and the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association (NPDA).
Originally from Ternopil, Ukraine, Dr. Hrynyk practiced dentistry for two years before moving to Canada. Since 2016, he and his family have proudly called the Niagara Region home. In 2019, he was delighted to join the long-standing dental practice of Dr. Ken Sawatzky, continuing its tradition of excellence in patient care. Fluent in English, Ukrainian, Russian, and Polish, he is proud to serve patients from many cultural backgrounds.
For Dr. Hrynyk, dentistry is more than a profession: it's a passion for helping people feel confident, comfortable, and cared for. He takes pride in delivering high-quality, patient-centered dentistry, offering a full range of services including comprehensive exams, restorative and cosmetic treatments, implantology, and extractions. His approach is guided by one simple philosophy: always do what is best for the patient's oral health and well-being.
What excites Dr. Hrynyk most about dentistry is its ability to make an immediate, positive difference. Whether relieving pain, restoring function, or creating a new smile, he finds great reward in seeing patients leave the office feeling healthier and happier.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hrynyk enjoys a balanced and active lifestyle with his wife and two children. Together, they love exploring the outdoors: camping, skiing, and road cycling across the Niagara Region and beyond.
Dr. Mark Saric is a compassionate and detail-oriented dentist committed to providing exceptional care for patients of all ages. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Canisius College and went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Saric is a proud member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Dedicated to continuous learning, he regularly participates in advanced training to stay current with the latest techniques and technologies in dentistry. His professional interests include crown and bridge prosthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and pediatric dentistry.
With a gentle approach and a focus on patient comfort, Dr. Saric strives to create a positive and stress-free dental experience for everyone who visits his chair. He takes pride in helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles that last a lifetime.
Outside of the office, Dr. Saric enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle: he can often be found at the gym, on the golf course, or exploring new restaurants with his wife and three children.
Dr. Ryan Modafferi was born and raised in the Niagara region, where he spent most of his life before pursuing his studies in dentistry. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences from Brock University in 2020 before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto in 2024.
Dr. Modafferi is passionate about providing comprehensive and compassionate care, with a focus on supporting the overall health and wellbeing of his patients. He believes in creating a comfortable environment where every patient feels heard, informed, and cared for. His professional interests include esthetic dentistry and the diagnosis and management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Modafferi enjoys playing guitar, coding, drawing and sketching, reading, and continuously learning, whether through studying new languages or pursuing self-improvement.

Sue Registered Dental Hygienist
Susan (Sue) is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has been practising dental hygiene since 1993 and has worked in the dental field since 1986. Her extensive experience and genuine passion for patient care make her an invaluable member of our team. Sue's dedication to her profession shines through in the personalized care and attention she provides to every patient she sees.
Outside the office, Sue enjoys spending time on the golf course, tending to her garden, and most importantly, sharing special moments with her family.
Rachel Registered Dental Hygienist
Rachel is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has worked at Pelham Hills Dentistry since 2023. Rachel takes pride in creating a comfortable, positive experience for every patient she works with. She graduated from Niagara College's Dental Hygiene program in 2023, following the completion of an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Guelph in 2019.
She enjoys combining her strong background in science with hands-on care to support patients in achieving their oral health goals. Building trust and making patients feel comfortable in the dental chair is something she truly values.
Outside of work, she loves spending time in nature, especially backcountry camping with her husband and their adventurous pup, Blitz.
Lisa Registered Dental Hygienist
Lisa is a Registered Dental Hygienist who completed both the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene Programs at Niagara College, graduating in 2014. With over 10 years of experience in dental hygiene and a passion for helping patients achieve their healthiest smiles, Lisa has been an integral part of the Pelham Hills Dentistry team since 2022.
Known for her gentle touch and caring approach, Lisa takes pride in making every patient feel comfortable and cared for during their visits. She values building strong relationships with her patients and is dedicated to providing thorough, personalized dental care.
Outside of the office, Lisa loves spending time outdoors, especially during the summer and fall months, and enjoys creating lasting memories with her family and two young children.
Alexis Registered Dental Hygienist
Alexis grew up in Welland and has been part of the dental profession since completing the Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs at Niagara College. She became a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2017 and joined Pelham Hills Dentistry with a passion for helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
While studying, Alexis had the opportunity to travel to Honduras in 2016, where she provided dental hygiene care to several communities, a rewarding experience that deepened her love for dentistry and patient care.
In 2023, Alexis, along with her husband, son, and chocolate lab, settled in Fonthill, where they enjoy being part of the local community.
Penny Certified Dental Assistant
Penny is a highly experienced and caring Certified Dental Assistant who has been an integral part of Pelham Hills Dentistry for many years. She graduated from Niagara College in 1989 and went on to complete her Preventive Dental Assistant (Level II) certification at the University of Western Ontario in 1994.
With her extensive experience and compassionate approach, Penny helps create a warm, welcoming, and family-oriented environment where patients feel comfortable and well cared for. Her attention to detail and friendly personality make every dental visit a positive experience.
Outside of the office, Penny enjoys an active lifestyle and loves spending quality time with her two adult children, as well as with her family and friends.
Tatum Certified Dental Assistant
Tatum was born and raised right here in the Niagara Region and has been part of the dental field since graduating as a Level II Dental Assistant in 2004. With her friendly and outgoing personality, she's always ready to greet you with a warm smile and make sure you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.
Tatum loves connecting with patients and creating a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere at every visit. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially when they're out RV camping and making new memories together.
Administrative Team
Tamara Office Manager
Tamara is the friendly and organized heart of Pelham Hills Dentistry. She graduated with Honours in Criminology from York University and began her career working in various roles within the Ontario Government. When Dr. Hrynyk established his practice, Tamara decided to bring her leadership and administrative skills into the dental field, an opportunity that allowed her to combine her strong organizational background with her passion for helping people.
Since then, Tamara has completed several Dental Practice Management courses and continues to expand her knowledge to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently. She takes great pride in creating a welcoming environment for both patients and staff, and she truly sees the Pelham Hills Dentistry team as an extension of her family.
Outside the office, Tamara enjoys a busy and active family life. She loves cheering on her son at hockey games and supporting her daughter in soccer and tennis. Fluent in Ukrainian, Tamara is also proud to be actively involved in her local community.
Debbie Treatment Coordinator
Debbie was born and raised in Port Colborne, Ontario, and has been passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental care journey. She graduated with Honours from the Dental Assisting Program at Niagara College in 2013. After several years of working chairside as a Dental Assistant, Debbie discovered her true calling on the administrative side of dentistry.
As the Treatment Coordinator at Pelham Hills Dentistry, Debbie enjoys building lasting relationships with patients and guiding them through their treatment planning with care and clarity. Her warm personality, strong communication skills, and attention to detail make her an invaluable part of the team.
Outside the office, Debbie loves spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their beloved pets. She's a devoted hockey fan and proudly believes that the Toronto Maple Leafs will win the Stanley Cup—this year.
Kate Receptionist
Kate was born and raised in Welland, Ontario, and has always had a passion for creating positive experiences for others. She graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at George Brown College in 2012 and spent several years working chairside before transitioning into administrative and front-desk roles. Her combined clinical and administrative background allows her to provide patients with knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient service from the moment they walk through the door.
Nothing makes Kate happier than spending time with her husband and their two young daughters. When she's not at work, you can find her outdoors with her family, enjoying nature and staying active. A former competitive figure skater, Kate now finds joy in teaching her daughters how to skate and sharing her love for the sport with them.
Olga Receptionist
Olga joined Pelham Hills Dentistry after moving to Canada from Ukraine three years ago, courageously starting a new chapter in life after the war. Her resilience, kindness, and positive attitude shine through in everything she does. Olga is known for her friendly smile, eagerness to learn, and genuine care for everyone who walks through the door.
Fluent in Ukrainian, Olga is deeply involved in the local Ukrainian community and dedicates much of her free time to volunteering. She actively supports Food4Kids Niagara and often participates in events that help Ukrainian families settle and thrive in the Niagara Region.
Outside of work, Olga enjoys spending time outdoors and cherishing moments with her family. She believes there's always something positive to be found in every situation; a mindset that brings warmth and optimism to both her team and patients alike.
